CN Brown Company’s Employee Spotlight, June 2022 – Susan Goulet!

Enjoy what Susan shared about her journey with CN Brown Company:

Q. How did your career progress at CN Brown Company?

In 2012, I was hired to coordinate and project manage the new Rewards Program for their 70+ Big Apple convenience stores. The stores were located in 3 states and had multiple fuel brands, register systems and tax regulations affecting my new program. A challenging project.

During the first 7 years of the Big Apple Rewards Program, I wrote scripts and recruited others to assist with the audio messages that played at the pumps. (both employees and customers). Many community members, friends and store personnel recognized their friends and coworker’s voices on the pumps which created lots of great feedback in the community.

One extra part of my job for the last 5 years, was being the Chairperson of the CNB Wellness Committee. I really enjoyed organizing Wellness events like Rafting Trips, Paint Nights, Healthy BBQ’s, On-Site Massage Days and Kayak adventures for the employees and their families.

 Q. What’s the best part of your current job?

The best part of my job is there are no two days that are the same.
I work on several projects while also running the Big Apple Rewards Program. Projects like the CNB Trail Grant program for Snowmobile and ATV Clubs, Community Sponsor Events like Maine Mariners Hockey, High School Basketball Tournament tabling and the Annual Great Falls Brewfest event. One big annual project I have enjoyed has been organizing and implementing the CNB Employee Appreciation Days at Aquaboggan.

Q. What’s the most challenging part of your job?

The most challenging part of my job lately has been rolling out our newly upgraded Big Apple Rewards Program to the stores. Our customer base is so diverse that many of our “seasoned” customers do not want to use a mobile app based program while the millennials (and younger) customers expect a totally electronic paperless program. Luckily, the new system is flexible to accommodate all our customers at any age. Providing ongoing training to our store teams will eliminate many of challenges coming my way at this early stage of the program rollout.

Q. What’s your favorite memory from working at CN Brown Company?

My FAVORATE memory at CN Brown Company is the MDA Miracle Ball (and all the great fundraising efforts we have done to help people with Muscular Dystrophy). This costume ball was a fun relaxed way to spend time with our Vendors while raising funds for our locally based MDA Summer Camp.

Q. Why would you recommend working for CN Brown Company?

CN Brown Company is a family owned, local company who appreciates my hard work. I work directly with the ownership and really appreciate the direct line of communication to make things happen. I have worked for large out of state corporations before, who did not know my name and never listened to people in the field.  Here at CNB, if someone has an innovative idea or better way to provide quality service, the change is made and implemented immediately.

I have been with CNB for 10 years. It’s the longest I have been with any company. I plan on being here another 10
or MORE.
