April 26, 2023 – To show our heartfelt appreciation for all her hard work and dedication throughout the last three plus decades, our corporate office team gathered today for a retirement luncheon from Dad’s Place. Several spoke of good memories, fun times, projects, challenges, and enjoyment.

“Lori poured her heart and soul into her work. She’s not only made a significant difference here, but has touched many lives along the way” shared, Sonia Smith. Sonia has accepted the role as Corporate Office Manager, as Lori makes her way to retirement. “I want to know when people become grandparents, and all their events along the way. I will miss you all, and I love all of you…especially this group right here,” pointing to her team of department managers that she has shared decades with. “I plan to keep in touch,” said Lori. It was with great joy and respect, that each and every person shared their thoughts and memories of times with Lori.

Attention WILL CALL Customers, if you have an inside tank you can use diesel, off-road diesel or kerosene to keep you warm until your next heating fuel delivery. If you have an outside tank, please use kerosene. You can purchase these products at your local convenience store.

February and March just flew by! Unlike most years, the snow is almost gone.  Many of us hope that we can squeeze by on what oil we have left in our tanks. However, April and May in Maine can be unpredictable and last year both months were colder than normal. There will be more than a few days and nights when our furnaces will be running. If you are a Will-Call customer avoiding a runout is as easy as a phone call to your local CN Brown Energy Office to top off your tank.

Territory Manager – Wholesale Division

Job Description

Founded in 1948, C.N. Brown Company is a Maine based family owned company that owns and operates 73 convenience stores, 26 heating oil offices and 11 service stations, delivering petroleum products into Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Northern Massachusetts.

The Territory Manager will be responsible for managing their assigned territory, maintaining and growing their existing book of business for wholesale commercial Gasoline, Oil & LP accounts, and real estate leases. If you are competitive, motivated, a team player, and capable of building long-term mutually beneficial business relationships based on trust and confidence, we are excited to talk with you.


  • Assess the strengths, weaknesses, and market conditions of your territory and manage sales programs accordingly
  • Monitor the programs on accounts across your territory and pinpoint ways to meet current customer needs and penetrate new markets
  • Provide on-the-ground support, follow-up, training, and management for your accounts, current deals, close new deals, and problem solve
  • Meet with existing customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of our company’s relationship with them
  • Meet with former customers and new prospects to create opportunities to grow your book of business
  • Develop and implement sales initiatives, strategies, processes and tactics, and programs to maintain and capture key demographics in your territory
  • Update any contracts and lease agreements 
  • Prospect new leads and close sales via cold calling


  • Petroleum Market knowledge 
  • 5+ years of wholesale or distribution experience
  • 5+ years in leadership sales position
  • 5 + years of cold calling sales experience
  • Strong computer skills required (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Able to work as a team as well as individually ? Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Strong decision-making abilities
  • Able to travel when necessary
  • Contract & Lease knowledge

Congratulations to Austin VanAvery of our Transportation Division for being Driver of the Month for November 2022.

January 13, 2023 – MMTA: Each year, we recognize trucking companies and drivers for their commitment to highway safety with an evening of awards. This year’s Annual Banquet was held last night at the Sheraton Sable Oaks with almost 500 in attendance.
Below are the Driver of the Year and Grand Champion Fleet Safety Award winners.

MMTA: Congratulations to the winners and we thank you for supporting highway safety and the trucking industry in Maine! 2022 Drivers of the Month were an impressive bunch that have accumulated 285 years of combined driving and over 19 million safe miles during that time.
