CN Brown Company’s Employee Spotlight, May 2021 – Jeannine Doucette!

Enjoy what Jeannine shared about her journey with CN Brown Company:

Q. How did your career progress at CN Brown Company?

In October of 1993, I started out doing dealer credit card and small bank reconciliations.   Over the years, I moved on to more involved accounts and tasks within the Accounting department including; corporate bank accounts, income and expense accounts, asset management, profit sharing, and preparing monthly financial statements, and for a time was the assistant department manager.   While my children were young I worked just part time, but was back full time in September of 2009.  In February of 2011, I transferred to the IT department.  I was the assistant department manager for IT from 2013 – 2021. In 2021, I accepted the IT Department Manager position.

 Q. Do you have any projects you are particularly proud of?

During my time in the IT department I have coordinated many projects including switching phone and internet services to one provider, computer software conversions, and documenting IT security policies.   I am happy that each of these projects has advanced the philosophy of working “smarter not harder.”

 Q. What’s the best part of your current job?

I enjoy that I get to work with a wide range of employees throughout the company and each day brings different issues to be handled.

Q. What’s your favorite memory from working at CN Brown Company?

We have always been allowed to have fun at the Main Office; dressing up for Halloween, decorating departments for Christmas, celebrating our employees, etc.    My favorite memory is probably of the year we put on an Austin Powers skit to announce the Main Office Employee of the Year.

Q. Why would you recommend working for CN Brown Company?

I think because CN Brown is a family owned and operated business, ownership values that employees have families of their own. I appreciate that I have been able to work close to home and have had flexibility to attend my kid’s school and sport activities over the years.
